Just had to write a quick blurb about Aadi's latest feat.
I recently changed his password (yes - he has his own user account on our computer) from "aadi" to "dinosaur" as part of my brilliant idea to get him to learn tough new words by using motivation at the right place, and within 2 days he was reciting the spelling for "dinosaur" without any errors.
Today in the morning, there was too much silence in the house (that means around 5 minutes of no shouting and crying and yelling) so of course we got concerned. Went to the den and found out that he had logged into his account, had played a bit with Paint (some modern art he is working on), then somehow managed to start IE and searched for "dinosaur" using the search text box in IE and finally clicked on the first hit which had taken him to the wikipedia page on dinosaurs. Wow! For a kid who is not yet 3 years old, I think that is mighty impressive! :)
I never thought I would be worrying about parental controls etc. on the computer so soon. Guess I need to read up and set something up to keep him safe online now.
